Calling All Musicians, Poets and Spoken-Word Artists!

If you would you like to perform on the main stage at Trans Pride Brighton 2018, or at the DIY night gig, then this is for you! This is a day dedicated to the empowerment of all trans, non-binary, intersex, gender-variant and gender-queer people, and an opportunity for you to take part in an event that makes a real difference.

Requirements for the main stage at the park are:

  • The performances will take place on Saturday 21st July 2018, in allocated slots between 1pm and 6pm.
  • For poetry and spoken word, the work should be a celebration of trans and gender identity.
  • Your work should show trans and gender identity in a positive light.
  • Cisgender artists are welcome to participate in partnership with trans artists (but the more trans members you have, the greater your chances to get on stage).
  • Local performers will be given preference and trans people from BAME (Black, Asian, and minority ethnic) communities will be given priority.
  • Pop (or mainstream music style) bands will be given preference on the day stage.
  • All content for the day event in the park must be family friendly (i.e. no swearing, discussion of adult themes, or nudity).

Requirements for DIY Night Gig stage are:

  • The performances will take place on Saturday 21st July 2018, in allocated slots between 7pm and 11.30pm.
  • This is a DIY gig for “loud and proud” post-punk, metal and similar genre bands, where Trans content will be given preference – but anything goes, try us!
  • Local, unsigned bands will be given preference, with trans people from BAME (Black, Asian, and minority ethnic) communities given priority.
  • Cisgender artists are welcome to participate in partnership with trans artists (but the more trans members you have, the greater your chances to get on stage).
