Looking for Main Stage Compères

Trans Pride Brighton & Hove is looking for compères for this year’s main stage event.

You will be working with the stage crew and the other compères to ensure the smooth running of the stage, introducing acts, reading out notices and telling the odd joke (if you have any!).

We are ideally looking for 3 upbeat people. We would particularly welcome applications from trans-masculine, trans-feminine and non-binary identified people; and we are extraordinarily open and welcoming of people from BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) communities. However, feel free to apply however you identify.

Please keep in mind that this is a family event and a safe space where vulgar language or sexual content will not be accepted. Also, we stress the importance of avoiding any topics that would be considered mental health or abuse triggers. You will be expected to be well informed and cognisant of performers’ and colleagues’ identities and their pronouns at all times. We should emphasise that being a compère on our main stage should not be undertaken for personal self-promotion reasons; you will be there as the face of Trans Pride Brighton & Hove.

If you feel you would be a great compère, contact us via email at [email protected], quoting “2018 compère” in the subject line.

  • Tell us something about yourself and any stage work (performances/compère/acting) that you have done in the past
  • Please include any material / links to other work
  • Tell us your pronouns and how you identify

Trans Pride Brighton & Hove looks forward to hearing from you!
